Abstract

The poet of Alhamiado literature Muharem-aga Dizdarević, known a a poet by name Muhamed Rušdi, is one of the most prolific writers of this kind of literature. He lived and wrote in the 19th century (died in 1905 in Trebinje, his birthplace). His poems were printed several times. The author of this work prof. Abdurahman Nametak divides all his poems into four groups: the hikayas (short stories) and the vefats (poems on death), the mevluds (poems written in praise of the birthday of the Messenger), religious-didactic and secular-moralistic poems, and the poems about historical figures. He analyses each of these groups and gives examples for each kind of poems.
