The list of waqfnamas from Bosnia and Herzegovina which are housed in Gazi Husrev - bey's library

Abstract

The Waqfnamas (documents of endow ment) are presented according to the alphabet  of  towns and in every town according to  the alphabet of Waqifs  (endow ers). In three Sidžils (court records)  of  Waqfnamas  which  Library  possesses there are 1092 of Waqfnamas in transcription. In addition, the Library possesses 421 Waqfnamas which are preserved as special documents. These are some original Waqfnamas and the transcribed ones as well. Certain Waqfnamas are classified into  documents of the Library but they are also included  in this register. Therefore the  Library  possesses totally  1104 of Waqfnamas. Beside every Waqfnama, the year of  its origin  is  indicated.
