The question of qirāʼāts has always been a focal point for Arabic linguists for the purpose of understanding that Qur’anic phenomenon as well as for the purpose of developing linguistic theories, in as much as qirāʼāts were considered to be the main source of argumentation in establishing the norms of Arabic grammar and stylistics. This paper offers a short cross section of the historical development of the science of argumentation in qirāʼāts from early tafsīr contacts with that subject and through writing the first distinct works from that field until contemporary specialist studies and research works.
Dževad Šošić Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 5 17 10.51719/25663267.2020.27.41.5 Permutative (al-badal) and Apposition (ʻaṭf al-bayān) in the Arabic Language - Similarities and Differences http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/635
This paper examines two secondary elements of a clause in the Arabic language, namely the permutative and the apposition. The permutative is a noun complement that follows the noun as the appositive and tries to additionally explain it or even take its place, which justifes the semantics of the term badal (permutation). Furthermore, the rules say that a non-derived noun can act as the permutative, and owing to the different semantics it creates, four different types of the permutative are defined and they all keep case agreement with the antecedent in all forms. The apposition in the Arabic language is characterised by the function of additional explanation of the antecedent with which it shares the same case inflexion, which brings it closer to the permutative, but what separates them is the fact that the permutative is independent in its semantic content and it can replace the antecedent, while the clause stays syntactically correct. Without an ambition to make a serious comparison and with the sole aim of a better understanding of the apposition in the Arabic language, by comparing terminological solution in two separate language systems, we will try to justify the attitude that an equal sign between the terms apposition in the Arabic language and the apposition in the Bosnian language cannot be put to the fullest extent. The apposition in the Bosnian language additionally explains the antecedent, following its inflexion, but it is a more general term than the latter, as opposed to the apposition in the Arabic language. Formally, they differ by the place they take within a syntagm in relation to the antecedent.
Amira Trnka-Uzunović Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 19 30 10.51719/25663267.2020.27.41.19 A New Pattern of Old Fabric: Taʻlīm-i fārisī and the Grammatical Description of the Persian Language in the Ottoman Empire http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/636
This paper aims to examine the work entitled Taʻlīm-i fārisī in the context of the Ottoman tradition of the grammatical study of the Persian language. Taʻlīm-i fārisī, most likely penned by Kemal-pasha, is a short yet exceedingly significant primer for Persian language students dated in the middle of the 19th century. After a brief overview of the Persian grammar studies in the Ottoman Empire, the authors present the work and its author and conduct an analysis of the content of Taʻlīm-i fārisī. In terms of its underlying methodology, this work stands halfway between two principal tendencies: one is the traditional approach to studying the Persian language in the Ottoman Empire; another is a new approach developed under the influence of grammatical description of European languages. This paradigm shift in the Persian language's grammatical description within the Ottoman Empire is readily observable in the primer under review.
Munir Drkić Ahmed Zildžić Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 31 48 10.51719/25663267.2020.27.41.31 On names and terminology from Oriental-Islamic culture in Bosnian spelling http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/637
Names and terminology from Oriental-Islamic spirituality and culture are an important layer of the lexicon of the Bosnian language to which users mostly build a special relationship. That is why orthographic standardization of such words is a very challenging and responsible task. The expectations are always different. In the case of the names and terminology discussed in this article, Muslim theologians, intellectuals, imams, etc. have the greatest influence and the most significant role. They must first of all understand that the vocabulary in question has ceased to be Arabic by the act of borrowing and has become Bosnian, falling that way under the normative ‘jurisdiction’ of the Bosnian language. Only by incorporating all such words into the appropriate Bosnian spelling categories we show that they are fully accepted and domesticated in the Bosnian language. Likewise, as we wander around choosing different ways of writing them (especially those that are foreign to the Bosnian language and spelling), we are actually showing that these words are still a ‘problem’ for us, even after centuries of their presence in the Bosnian language. In doing so, one should know that every battle against natural laws, including linguistic ones, is lost in advance.
Ismail Palić Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 49 65 10.51719/25663267.2020.27.41.49 The Works of Mustafa Ejubović - Šejh Jujo in the Field of Disputation http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/638
Mustafa Ejubović - Šejh Jujo is one of the most prolific Bosniak writers who wrote in oriental languages. He wrote about almost all Islamic disciplines, and especially about disputation. This paper is a contribution to the study of the written legacy of Mustafa Ejubović. Given that the subject of this paper is disputation, which is considered a branch of logic, this paper gives a brief overview of the development of logic as a discipline, with a special focus on its development in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the so-called Arabic logic was studied. This paper gives an overview of ten Ejubović’s works available from the field of disputation. Two of those ten works have been translated into Bosnian, and three have not yet been found. During the analysis of each of the manuscripts, it was concluded that Ejubović left a considerable number of over 400 pages of manuscript text from the field of disputation. After the presentation of his works, the paper gives brief insights into disputation, explaining the basic concepts of the discipline. After that, a brief overview of a debate according to principles of the discipline is given along with quotations from Ejubović’s works, as well as some other works from disputation. His contribution to this discipline deserves much more extensive and detailed work.
Dževad Gološ Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 67 84 10.51719/25663267.2020.27.41.67 About the Founding of Sarajevo http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/639
This paper highlights the significance of dates in the history of all settlements, and in particular an urban settlement, and the significance of introducing them into their chronological calendar. This is particulary significant for urban settlements and the dates of their gaining the status of a city, which is a very important historical and civilizational act by which the proper legal status of a settlement and its inhabitants would be acknowledged and verified. By this act, a settlement was singled out from a multitude of other populated places in its surroundings for its urban, social and cultural characteristics with regard to its status. This matter raises no questions by any means about the continuity of life in the wider area of an emerging or newly- declared urban settlement. However, the differences in status and socioeconomic aspects are clearly shown. A complex legal procedure for gaining, acknowledging and verifying the status of a city in the case of Sarajevo had to be observed. The motives for choosing the location for building a new complex were highlighted, the complex with suitable urban facilities and under the urban criteria that needed to be met in order to be able in any way to apply for the status of a city. A source on this matter, produced immediately after the foundation of the city and its legal verification, contains an answer to such questions. The careful selection of the location for the emerging city was made, namely the land for those facilities was chosen by the founder „ ... because he found it suitable for building a šeher (city) on it... “ This syntagm also answers the question of whether it is an entirely new or some earlier founded settlement. The Brodac Settlement, with a newly- formed city founded within its boundaries, appears in the sources in parallel with the name of the city of Sarajevo until the middle of the 16th century, which clearly confirms that it was a completely new settlement that had been founded within the boundaries of the Brodac village, and surely it had not been founded on a previously built rural or town settlement. Moreover, other settlements found in the vicinity of the city kept their names from the Middle Ages and throughout centuries to the present day they have been recognisable and distinguishable for those names as the parts of the Sarajevo city zone.
Aladin Husić Behija Zlatar Enes Pelidija Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 85 97 10.51719/25663267.2020.27.41.85 About Qadiluks and and Hamzevis http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/644
This paper presents accounts in the Ottoman language on the movement of Hamzevis and their activities written by the famous mufti and muderis of Belgrade Munīrī Belġrādī by the beginning of the 17th century. In two of his seventeen works that are known to us, Belġrādī speaks directly about the Hamzevis, their founder and activities, and in two works, writing about other topics, he indirectly touches on the Hamzevis, their teachings and behaviour. Belġrādī’s accounts are important because they give a picture of the Ottoman State’s attitude towards religious movements as well as the positioning of a scholar, such as Belġrādī, regarding these movements. The paper also points out that the Hamzevi movement was not only of a religious character, but also had a potential to be a carrier of socio-political changes. This paper provides basic academic literature on Hamzevis, a brief overview of the author’s biography, a Latin transcription of Belġrādī’s reports with a paraphrased translation into Bosnian, and an analysis of these data in the light of socio-political events in the Ottoman Empire during the second half of the 16th century.
Nihad Dostović Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 157 175 almost his entire working life serving as the mufti of Sarajevo. During his lifetime, he collected a valuable library of works from different scientific disciplines, and he bequeathed it in his will to his heirs as evladiyyat waqf (family endowment), provided that his most capable and competent descendants would look after the library. Considering that the descendants did not abide by the waqif’s (endower’s) last will and testament and that they sold out of the library by the middle of the 20th century, this paper focuses on the way in which Mufti Muidović’s library was sold out. Our goal in this paper was to determine the exact number of preserved manuscripts from Mufti Muidović’s library and the place where they are stored and kept today. Moreover, this paper presents the activities that the Islamic community had undertaken in order to safeguard and protect Mufti Muidović’s library, while the appendixes to this paper contain the title and type of the works in Mufti Muidović’s library, registered on the list made by Muhammad Enveri Kadić, which is, to be sure, of major significance, since hitherto conducted research mentions only the number of the works that Mufti Muidović had left to his library.
Meho Manjgo Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 217 237 10.51719/25663267.2020.27.41.217 A Collection of Geographical događaja u evropskoj književnosti i kulturi.
Hilmo Neimarlija Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 267 273 Seven letters about the Gazi Husrev-beg library http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/653
Koje nas poruke oslovljavaju pod svodovima Gazi Husrev-begove biblioteke danas, 480 godina nakon njezina postanka?
Enes Karić Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 274 276 Nasuprot zlu : Muslimanske rezolucije iz 1941. – zajednička izjava iz 2015. http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/654
Enes Karić i Mustafa Spahić, Sarajevo: El-Kalem, 2019, 120 str.
Hilmo Neimarlija Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 279 281 Islam and Nazi Germany’s war http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/655
David Motadel, Cambridge Mass.,The Belknap Press of Harvard University Press, 2014, 512 str.
Fikret Karčić Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 282 284 Murteza Karađuzović (1865–1941) : muftija crnogorskih muslimana http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/656
Šerbo Rastoder, Podgorica: Almanah, 2019, 326 str.
Enes Pelidija Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 285 287 Kadiluk Tešanj u drugoj polovini 18. stoljeća (Tešanj, Maglaj i Žepče u svjetlu akata tešanjskog suda) http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/657
Aladin Husić, Sarajevo: Gazi Husrev-begova biblioteka u Sarajevu, 2020, 304 str.
Edin Radušić Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 288 289 Zbornik radova Prve međunarodne konferencije o zaštiti pisanog naslijeđa, Sarajevo 16. i 17. 9. 2019. http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/658
Sarajevo: Gazi Husrev-begova biblioteka u Sarajevu, 2020, 233 str.
Ruhulah Hodžić Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 290 294 Moć i granice komentara: komentar al-Maqāme al-Rūmiyye nepoznatog autora http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/659
Munir Mujić, Sarajevo: Centar za napredne studije (CNS) i Orijentalni institut Univerziteta u Sarajevu, 2020, 248 str.
Ahmed Zildžić Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 295 298 Shariʻa Courts In Yugoslavia 1918–1941 http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/660
Fikret Karčić, Sarajevo: Center for Advanced Studies, 2019, 196 str.
Sead Bandžović Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 299 303 Classical Poetry In the Arabic, Persian And Turkish Languages: A Poetological Approach http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/661
Esad Duraković, Translated by Selma Đuliman, Ankara: Turkish Academy of Sciences, 2019, 269 str.
Mirza Sarajkić Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 304 306 Iz osmanske baštine http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/662
Olga Zirojević, Beograd: Balkanski centar za Bliski istok, 2018, 157 str.
Amer Maslo Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 307 309 I prijatelj i neprijatelj: rano osmansko društvo i Ibn ʻArabī http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/663
Ahmed Zildžić, Univerzitet u Sarajevu, Orijentalni institut, Posebna izdanja LXI, Sarajevo, 2020, 261 str.
Emina Mostić Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 310 312 Bosna u evropskim enciklopedijama ili Hronologija krivotvorenja historijske logike http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/664
Nurija Agić, Bosanska riječ, Tuzla 2019, 421 str.
Hadžija Hažiabdić Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 313 314 Dr. Kemal Bašić (1964–2020) http://anali-ghb.com/index.php/aghb/article/view/665
In memoriam: 1964–2020
Sedad Bešlija Copyright (c) 2020-12-31 2020-12-31 27 41 315 317
